Welcome To The First Post of JSnippets

Hey guys

This will be first of many posts to come. Before we get into any JavaScript I want to first tell you the reasons that JSsnippets exist. Coming from a web design background the learning curve into web development has been a bit taxing to be honest. Learning HTML and CSS has its fair share of lows and highs (low in hours slept and high in the amount of caffeine consumed) but once the veil was removed it was revolutionary. HTML was for structure of the website CSS was for design, style and layout and JavaScript was for behavior or interactivity, but wait whats JavaScript? I have gained a far superior knowledge of HTML and CSS that I simply reverted to JavaScript Libraries (will dive into this later on..) to do all animations neglecting to learn or either understand it.

So a few years go by of me throwing the word Jquery (will go over this later) around I counted my self at the top of my game, until I came encounter with a coworker who knew JavaScript. He knew it so well that he was a freelancer for CNN, TBS and Google just to name a few, me realizing his talent asked (more like stalked) him to impart some of his knowledge, but to no avail. I was too late by the time I asked him he accepted a job for another huge company, but before leaving he left me with some books. So now you have it the reason why JSnippets exist to walk through what I’ve learned and am continuing to learn on this journey.

One thing I realized is to be good at something you should be working on it everyday, but that’s not always the case for everyone because of time, children, work family or businesses. So I created this website to help web designers with HTML and CSS knowlege to switch gears and start thinking like a computer programmer. This post and hundreds hopefully thousands after it will help familiarize you’ll with the inner and outer workings of JavaScript and then graduate to more advanced tools that will not only be useful but will add interactivity and intelligence to your website. So I hope that you guys are ready because I am excited to share what I’ve learned. So that being said welcome to JSsnippets.
